Bodi needs a new home!
Bodi, a 5 year old black merle male Mudi, is in need of a new home! He is currently living in Texas with his owner. Unfortunately his owners' life has undergone many changes and he is not able to give Bodi the time and attention he needs and deserves.
Bodi is a very sweet boy, he has lots of personality and plenty of energy. He is eager and ready to be trained for a sport, but he is also an excellent candidate for someone that is looking for an active companion.
Bodi was born in June, 2006, has an FCI pedigree, OFA Good hips, Normal elbows and CERF cleared eyes 12/09. Bodi is currently intact, he has sired one litter in the USA in California born in 2010. It is planned to neuter him prior to placement. Bodi is approximately 18 inches tall.

"Brinks" is a purebred mudi, a herding dog. Mudi's are under the FSS classification by AKC. You can look it up under: http://www.akc.org/breeds/fss_breeds.cfm
He is sweet, loving and very well behaved. Completely house broken, does not chew on anything, minds his manners, rides well in a car. He loves everyone he meets, no trust issues. Seems very confident and willing to do whatever is asked. In the house he is content with laying on a bed or the floor, near you or away from you. He does not get in your face or demand attention, does not follow you around. He is very low maintenance as far as hanging out about the house or yard. He is not fond on being left alone and may not be appropriate for someone who works long hours.
He has been exposed to my dogs, my neighbor’s cattle dogs, they ran straight for him, only because they were happy to see me, J and he did nothing. I took him around the horses, goats and chickens no problem, no barking, no stress, no chasing. Took him around children, he did well except he stayed away from the youngest child, a 1 ½ year old. He kept moving about so the child could not touch him. He is fine with cats too.
He does not like to be kept in a cage or room when you are gone. He has stayed in the outside kennel/dog run and in the backyard all fenced in. He will try to get out of the yard and needs a secure fence and gates. We are feeding him in the cage, doing well. We put him in the cage every evening for about 30 minutes he is doing well. I left him in the bedroom for about 1/2 hour with the other dogs. He tried to look out the window, but no barking, whining or chewing. I have left him free about the house while I was gone for 2 to 5 hours. He will look for food! He will take food off of counters, desk tops, tables or unattended garbage cans if you are not looking.
Brinks does not have a mean bone in his body. I had to medicate his ears when he first arrived, he whined, but let me do what I needed to do. The Vet tech said he was a sweetheart, she drained his anal glands took blood all without a problem.
He walks on a leash fine and will stay with you without one, and after he gets to know you he has a great recall.
The biggest issue will be feeding him. He has allergies and can not eat grains. I have already tested this. Currently I have him on a grain free kibble with out potatoes, it seems potatoes may also cause a problem. I have also added digestive enzymes and it has seemed to help him. He has been neutered and had a complete dental. Other than food allergies he is in very good health. The symptoms from the food allergies include scratching, ear scratching/pain and paw chewing. Currently he is nearly symptom free, aside from a little dry skin. He is eating Natrues Variety limited ingredient Turkey. This food is available online through petflow at a very good price.
All of his behavior issues are minor. He is a wonderful dog and will make a great companion.
I am currently getting his registration current with AKC. He is 5 years old, 50 lbs and about 21.5 inches at the withers."

This is what Kim has to say about Brinks:
Smokey has a new home!
He now lives a life of leisure and style in New Mexico
with Egle and Kass!
When their first beloved Mudi Brando died at the age of 14 earlier in 2010, they needed some time to adjust to his loss before getting another dog. When the time was right, they saw that Smokey needed a home and they asked about adopting him. Their home and life style fit his needs perfect and he went to live with them at the end of August, 2010.
They enjoy long walks in the desert together and he enjoys sleeping in the sun room and watching the wild rabbits that come to the backyard! He is being fed the raw diet once again and is doing very well with his new family.
Many thanks to the foster home, Michelle, that went above and beyond the call of duty once again to help Smokey get to a great new life! While Smokey was in foster care, he had his eyes checked, he passed with excellent results:
Eyes CERF Clear
Thank you Michelle for taking him for this test and thanks to his breeder for paying for the test and his care costs while in foster care with Michelle.
Many more thanks go to Egle and Kass for opening their heart and home to give Smokey the chance to have a brand new life in a magical place with the love and attention he deserves!
Phoebe, now renamed as Leela,
has a new home!
She now lives in Oregon with Jenni and her dogs! Jenni is already training Leela for flyball and she is doing incredibly well! Leela blended into her new home seamlessly.
Many thanks to the foster home, Michelle, that went above and beyond the call of duty to help Leela get to a great new life! While Leela was in foster care, she had her hips and eyes checked, she passed both with excellent results:
Hips OFA Excellent
Eyes CERF Clear
Thank you Michelle for taking her for these tests and thanks to her breeder for paying for these tests, her spay and care costs while in foster care with Michelle.
And many more thanks go to Jenni for opening her heart and home to give Leela a brand new start!
Trinket, now renamed as Metieuw (me-too), has a new home!
She now lives in Calgary, Canada with Laura, Phil and Pontos (their first Mudi)! Thank you to Joan - her incredible foster home and to Laura and Phil for giving her a wonderful life as a beloved member of their family!
Kaila, has a new name and a new home!
Kai passed her CGC exam in September 2011! Congratulations to Kai and Jan!
Kai lives with Jan and her two Aussies in sunny Florida. She flew to Nebraska in March to get her and rented a car to drive her back home! Jan helped her to blend in with her new family immediately and began to train her right away with very promising results. Kai is smart, obedient and very thankful to have a marvelous, loving home! She is also competing in level 2 agility now! Hopefully we will have some more great news to share soon!
Thank you Jan and Nebraska Border Collie Rescue staff for helping this Mudi get a new life!
