The Mudi makes it's debut in the AKC Gazette
December 2004 edition.
The AMA gets support and recognition from the MEOE in Hungary 11/25/04!
The Mudi has been accepted into the American Kennel Club Foundation Stock Service Program!!
Mudi owners are now able to send in applications for recording of their Mudi in the AKC FSS program. Please visit the AKC website or the AMA AKC webpage for further information.
This is a wonderful accomplishment by the AMA to protect and preserve an already small gene pool in a rare breed, by being able to record USA born Mudi's with the AKC FSS program, we therefore will have the ability for these USA born dogs to be recognized by many other FCI Kennel Clubs around the world. Mudi breeders in the USA will no longer only be able to take from the worldwide Mudi population, but now also will be able to return genes to the gene pool as well.
The AMA would like to thank the AKC for accepting the Mudi breed into the FSS program and enabling it to have a brighter and more stable future in the USA and the world. The AMA would also like to extend a special thank you to Patricia Lejman, FSS Coordinator, for all of her work to help this goal for the Mudi in the USA to be achieved.

Effective immediately, a minimum of 150-200 dogs with complete three-generation pedigrees must be recorded in the AKC Foundation Stock Service as part of the criteria for eligibility to move to the Miscellaneous Class and advancement to full registration will be contingent on growth in the enrollment of dogs in FSS and participation in AKC events.
